The route at a glance

The community walkthrough starts in Kamo Village and leads through weapon selection, gathering, mining, combat, and a first Guild Hall mission. Its next major goal is level 15 and the first magic quest. Treat the Journal and the current quest text as the final guide when a step has changed.

1. Speak to Chief Farris

Find the village chief and begin the tutorial. Keep the quest tracked so that return-to-NPC steps are not lost between gathering and combat objectives.

2. Choose your weapon from Vulcan

The blacksmith offers one starting reward. The documented choices include gauntlets, a beginner blade, a longsword, and a spear. The reference warns that changing the chosen weapon type is not freely available without wiping the slot. Inspect the choice and its category before accepting.

Use the weapon comparison to understand proficiency requirements, speed, range, and the difference between Light, Medium, and Heavy weapons. A larger damage number alone does not establish the best starter.

3. Help Eira gather supplies

The listed tutorial tasks include harvesting Wolfsbane and Bamboo, then returning to Eira. This introduces a profession rather than merely a one-off collection task. Turn in the quest before moving on.

4. Work through Johan and Old Roderick

Johan’s listed tasks ask for Cloth and two Wood, then send the player to Old Roderick. Roderick introduces mining with a three-ore task. The reference locates the cave behind the large Alchemist Tower, north or northeast of the blacksmith. Use these landmarks together with the quest marker; this is not a measured map coordinate.

Broom-related progression appears in this part of the tutorial. Confirm the actual unlock and equip step in the quest interface instead of assuming that finding a race starts flight immediately.

5. Complete Captain Dalen’s combat task

The documented objective is to hunt three Wild Wolves, report back, and return to the chief. Use the early fights to practise dodging and parrying. The walkthrough also points to spending available Stat Points and using a Basic Technique Token to unlock a skill.

6. Finish the Guild Hall introduction

Report to Eleanor, start an F-Rank Mission, report back, then return to Chief Farris. The walkthrough describes U → Mission Bird as the mission entry. Check the current control prompt if your platform uses different inputs.

7. Continue to the first magic quest

Complete available village quests and follow the Journal until the magic quest is available. The current community reference says level 15 at Wisdom Peak. Some videos and an older written guide say level 10, so an old unlock level should not override the quest shown in game.

Early quests after the tutorial

Use the village’s short jobs to practise movement, earn experience and gather crafting materials. The saved community walkthrough lists these objectives:

Quest giver Objective Useful landmark or next step
Hollo Deliver a letter Find Recca and complete the delivery
Ryze Deliver a letter Report to Elicia
Daniel Collect five Wood Return with the requested materials
Abra Collect five Wolfsbane Gather nearby plants and turn in the quest
Javier Defeat five Nightcharmers Four summoning pillars north or northeast of the blacksmith
Old Man Adelfus Find three wagon wheels Blacksmith, large tower and inn; use the wheel route
Daeron Complete broom-race tasks Follow the named race objective and its start marker

These are quest objectives from the community guide, rather than a promise that every job is available immediately. Finish the relevant tutorial steps and track the quest before collecting its items.

A repeatable leveling loop

Raf_Dev’s October 24 leveling walkthrough alternates mission-board work with blue-marker repeatable quests while mission tokens refill. Check the Mission Bird menu for your available tokens, accept an appropriate mission, then complete nearby blue quests between mission attempts.

Turn in finished objectives before taking another route. If progress appears stuck, check whether a profession challenge, proficiency purchase or tutorial hand-in is waiting. The walkthrough gives timer estimates, but the menu’s current token counter and quest availability are more useful than an assumed universal cooldown.

Level 10 or level 15 for magic?

Prepare for level 15, the gate listed by the community walkthrough. This is also supported by a recent magic-unlock video at 2:28: the creator initially recalls level 10, then corrects it to 15 during the guide. Follow the quest log if a later update changes the requirement.

What to check before spending points

Stats change attributes. Traits add conditional effects and may require levels, quests, Marks, or other traits. Meeting an attribute threshold does not automatically mean that a passive has been purchased.

Read the requirements for a small number of useful unlocks before distributing points. A build that depends on a passive you cannot yet learn may feel very different from the demonstration that inspired it.

Common early roadblocks

  • Proficiency will not upgrade: check experience progress, available stat points, and currency. The community FAQ lists all three as requirements.
  • A trait is visible but inactive: return to the relevant unlock interface and check its purchase cost and prerequisites.
  • A guide says another level unlocks magic: compare its recording date and use the current quest requirement.
  • You want another race or grimoire: these are different reroll systems. A wipe is not a free race reset.

Your next decision

Explore the seven magics, compare race passives, and use the build-planning framework to connect your preferred playstyle with the requirements you can actually meet.
